Conference season shouldn't be the most stressful week of the year.
Parent-teacher conference scheduling has always been painful for teachers and for families. Paper sign-up sheets get lost. Email chains create double-bookings. Google Forms requires someone to manually check the spreadsheet and referee conflicts. And none of it sends a reminder.
We talked to teachers who were spending hours every semester on logistics that should take minutes. Admins were copy-pasting schedules across dozens of emails. Parents were showing up at the wrong time because a reminder never went out.
EduSignup started as the answer to one question: what if a teacher could describe their availability in plain English and have a working, shareable booking page in under 60 seconds? Quill, our AI scheduling assistant, is that answer.
The rest of the platform grew from the same place: real teachers, real workflows, and a consistent commitment to keeping things simple for families who just want to book a slot without creating yet another account.
Too many tools. Not enough time.
Running a classroom means managing conferences, volunteer sign-ups, supply requests, and field-trip permissions, all at once. The existing tools were never built to handle that together.
Parent-teacher conferences
Scheduling conference slots shouldn't require a spreadsheet, three reminder emails, and a hope that no one double-books. Yet that's exactly what most teachers deal with every semester: juggling paper sheets, Google Forms, or generic booking tools that have no idea what a school schedule looks like.
Classroom sign-ups
Volunteer days, class parties, read-alouds, field trip chaperones. Teachers manage a constant stream of sign-up sheets. The usual approach is a Google Form that emails you a raw data dump, or a paper sheet that goes home and never comes back. Neither sends reminders, neither prevents overbooking, and neither saves you any real time.
Switching between apps
Most schools end up stitching together three or four different products: one for booking, one for sign-ups, one for reminders, maybe a separate one for parent communication. Every tool has its own login, its own learning curve, and its own way of doing things, leaving teachers to play coordinator between apps instead of focusing on kids.
Not designed for teachers
The tools that exist were built for businesses: spas, hair salons, dentist offices. They're bloated with features teachers don't need and missing the ones they do. No concept of school-year cadences, no integration with how families actually communicate, and no affordability for a classroom budget.

I've been an educator since 2000, beginning my career as a third-grade teacher. Over the past 25+ years, I've taught third, fourth, and fifth grade and have had the opportunity to support both students and fellow educators while embracing technology as a way to enhance learning.
Throughout my years in the classroom, I noticed one common frustration: teachers spend far too much time creating parent-teacher conference schedules, volunteer sign-ups, classroom supply requests, and other classroom events. The available tools often felt outdated, required multiple steps, weren't mobile-friendly, and weren't designed with teachers' needs in mind. I knew there had to be a better way.
That's what inspired me to help create EduSignup. I wanted to build a platform that combines the convenience of scheduling and sign-up tools into one easy-to-use solution. EduSignup helps teachers create and manage sign-ups in just minutes using smart technology that simplifies the process, saves valuable time, and makes communication with families easier than ever.
Most importantly, I wanted it to be an affordable solution that every teacher and school could feel good about using. As both an educator and a mom of two, I understand how valuable every minute is. My hope is that EduSignup gives teachers more time to focus on what truly matters: building relationships with students, connecting with families, and creating meaningful learning experiences.
